Barcode

A barcode is a machine-readable representation of data in the form of bars and/or dots that can be captured by optical readers, such as barcode scanners, and processed electronically.

Barcodes are frequently used in industry, logistics and retail, but also in healthcare and libraries. They are suitable for all areas in which objects and data need to be identified and processed quickly, securely and automatically.

In warehouse management, barcodes make it much easier to control all processes. For example, they can be used to precisely record incoming goods, check stock levels at any time and carry out inventories quickly and easily.

Various types of barcodes are available for different areas of application, such as the EAN 13 code frequently used in retail or the 2D barcodes also known as "QR codes".
