# Quality inspection

Quality inspection involves verifying the fulfillment of specific criteria for products, materials, or even suppliers. The type and scope of the inspection can vary depending on operational requirements. For example, samples or entire quantities of a product may be examined through visual or laboratory tests. Guidelines for sample collection (quantity, scope, testing procedures) are often managed in an [ERP system](https://bitergo.com/en/glossary/erp-system). The results of quality inspections can directly impact processes in inventory management ([stock transfer](https://bitergo.com/relocation), rebooking, scrapping, etc.).
