Unpacking Warehouse-Star.de Release 21

This release brings significant updates, including a major overhaul of the customer center, a more streamlined user experience, tutorial enhancements, and several other improvements across the platform. This article breaks down the changes introduced, providing a general view into how they may improve the daily tasks of our users.  

A major upgrade of the technology we use to create the user interface was achieved, which is crucial not only for future releases, but also allowing for the use of tools that hastens our speed, flexibility and quality.   

The customer center has undergone a significant transformation, moving away from a copy-heavy oriented layout to a more refined, user-focused design. The reworked center now features a compact layout with cards and help buttons that provide respectively quick access to the apps and their relevant descriptions and tutorial. For mobile devices, an interactive banner with QR codes was added to download and access the mobile apps. 

The tutorial has been rejuvenated to provide a more efficient and accessible user experience. The previous text-heavy format has been simplified, with essential information now more easily accessible through new elements. The tutorial pages are now organized into three sections: a title and brief description, access to the relevant app, and a video. These videos include audio and closed captions, catering to different user preferences and improving accessibility. A QR code and download button have been added for users to easily access a PDF tutorial, allowing for seamless multitasking across devices. 

All web apps and two mobile apps have been refurbished to present a refreshed look with new colors, fonts, and other style elements, enhancing the overall navigation and usability of the apps. The page used for quick access to such apps has been updated to align with the new design language and functionality of our customer center. 

Since our last major version, an additional mix of changes were applied in different topics ranging from security and user experience to debugging and quality assurance; including new logos, new notification emails, reCAPTCHA, logging visibility, new phone field, testing tools and others.   

Despite efforts to cover all known topics, certain challenges persist. However, looking ahead, the development of Warehouse-Star.de continues and will deliver further improvements in the future.  

This release was delivered over a period of approximately three months with a team of great colleagues that have shown consistency and dedication. A special thanks goes out to the developers who made this release possible: Artur, Roman, Olena, Jörg, and Pascal. Your hard work is greatly appreciated!
