Storage is the process by which goods are brought into the warehouse. Nowadays, storage is usually documented digitally by means of goods receipt and storage postings in warehouse management or ERP systems.

There are two basic storage strategies: Rigid storage according to the fixed bin system and flexible storage according to the principle of chaotic storage.

Both approaches require compliance with the storage bin ABC classes, safety-related aspects such as storage bans and weight limits.

Storage should be carried out according to the requirements and the goods according to a principle such as FeFo (First expired - First out), FiFo (First in - First out) or LiFo (Last in - First out).

Warehouse Star storage offers configurable optimization strategies for a wide range of warehouse types, including block storage, shelving and high-bay racking. Goods are booked into storage space to the second via a mobile device or smartphone. The Warehouse Star storage strategy determines the best storage location for a specific pallet (handling unit) from the possible locations.
