A pallet is a frequently used loading aid in transportation and logistics, which is used to transport goods. Multiple pallets can be stacked on top of each other and combined to form a load unit. Forklifts enable pallets to be stored and retrieved in warehouses and at transfer points.
The best-known form of pallet is the Euro pallet (EUR pallet for short), which has standardized dimensions of 1200 x 800 x 144 mm (length x width x height) and a load capacity of 1,000 kg. A common standard in the USA is the grid box pallet.
Basically, pallets are made of wood, plastic or metal and are designed to be easily gripped and moved with a forklift. They enable efficient handling of goods and minimize damage to them.
