Just-in-time, for short "JIT", is a strategy within logistics and production planning that aims to make materials (products, resources) available exactly when they are needed. Goods are produced and/or delivered only when an order is placed. This is intended to minimize stock levels, optimize resource utilization in the warehouse, and reduce costs. The implementation of the Just-in-Time principle requires, in addition to optimal communication in the supply chain, precise planning and high reliability of suppliers to avoid delays in the production and delivery of goods.
