Introduction

After delivered goods have been accepted at the receiving area and posted in Bitergo WMS, the storage process begins. Using the Store Mobile App, warehouse staff can pick up goods from the receiving area and store them in the warehouse. The app suggests a suitable bin location for the selected goods based on the preconfigured storing/put away strategy and the goods’ properties defined in the master data.

Basic Concepts

The first step in the storing process is selecting the receiving location from which goods are to be put away. This displays all handling units, all deliveries, and all open storage orders in the app that are located at this receiving location.

Next, the employee selects one or more handling units for storage using the following options:

  • Handling units: Displays a list of all handling units located at this receiving location. From this list, the employee can select the handling unit they wish to put into storage.
  • Received Deliveries: Displays a list of all deliveries/goods receipts located at this goods receipt/ incoming goods station. After selecting a delivery, all handling units associated with that delivery are displayed. This allows the employee to put the handling units into storage sorted by delivery.
  • Storage orders: Displays all open storage orders that have not yet been completed. From this list, the employee can select a storage order to complete it.

In the third step, the storage takes place. After selecting and scanning the handling unit to be put away, the app suggests a suitable storage bin location. The employee can accept the bin location and put the handling unit away there, select a different storage bin location, or cancel the process.

User Interface

The Store Mobile App uses the standard Bitergo WMS mobile app user interface. For more details, see the chapter on User Interface and User Guidance.

Step-by-Step Guide to the App

You can log in to the app in two ways:

  • by manually entering your user credentials
  • by scanning your personal QR code from the Bitergo WMS user portal

Manually entering your login credentials

In the "User" field, enter the email address you used to register with Bitergo WMS, and in the "Password" field, enter your password. Click the "Login" button to log in to the system. You will be logged in and redirected to the app’s home screen. If necessary, you can use the "Change Server" button to manually enter or change the server address of your Bitergo WMS.

Scanning Your Personal QR Code

Click the QR code icon to open the camera. Log in to the user portal using a browser on another device and scan your personal QR code with the camera. It contains your user information, password, and the server address. As soon as the QR code is scanned, you will be logged in and redirected to the app's home screen.

Home Screen

From the home screen of the Store Mobile App, you can open the sidebar menu by tapping the menu icon in the top-left corner of the header. Through the sidebar menu, you can log out, view the legal notice, or adjust settings; for more information, see the “Sidebar Menu” section.

At the very top of the home screen, you’ll find the “Bin location” field. Scan the code for the receiving location (Receive Delivery/ RD location) where the delivered goods you want to store in the warehouse are located, or enter the name of the receiving location (Receive Delivery/ RD location) manually using the keyboard to activate the buttons below it.

Directly below the "Bin location" field on the home page, you’ll find the following buttons:

  • Handling units: Displays a list of all handling units currently located at this receiving area. From this list, the employee can select the handling unit they wish to put into storage.
  • Received Deliveries: Displays a list of all deliveries/goods receipts at this goods receipt location (RD location). After selecting a delivery, all handling units associated with that delivery are displayed. This allows the employee to put handling units into stock sorted by delivery.
  • Storage orders: Displays all open storage orders that have not yet been completed. From this list, the employee can select a storage order to complete it.

These buttons are only activated after you have selected a bin location (Receive Delivery Location). Click the "Refresh/Reload" icon in the upper-right corner of the header to reload the number of handling units at the selected goods receipt location.

Instructions

  1. Scan the code for the goods receipt location with the device or enter the name (or number) of the receiving location using the keyboard in the "Bin location" field, then press "Enter."
  2. The name of the selected goods receipt location appears in the “Bin location” field, and a green checkmark on the right side of the field confirms that the location is selected in the app. The buttons for selecting the shipments to be put away are activated.
  3. Select an option for how to display and sort the handling units you want to put into storage:
    • By handling units
    • By received deliveries
    • By storage orders

Handling units

After you select the goods receipt location and click the "Handling units" button, the "Handling units" page opens.

"Handling units" Page

The "Handling units" page displays a list of all handling units located at this goods receipt location.

In the header, you’ll find:

  • the “Back” icon (left-pointing arrow) on the left side closes the page and takes you back to the home page.
  • the page name: “Handling units”
  • the "Refresh/Reload" icon: Click the "Refresh/Reload" icon to reload the list of handling units at the selected goods receipt location.
  • the additional menu icon (three dots stacked vertically) on the far right.

In the main work area, you’ll find the list of handling units and the items contained in each handling unit.

In the grey areas, the handling units are displayed with the following information:

  • Name / Number of the handling unit
  • Bin location where the handling unit is located
  • Type of loading aid / load support for the handling unit

Below each handling unit, the individual items on the handling unit are listed one below the other. The following information is displayed for each item:

  • Item number
  • Item image
  • Description

Select a handling unit from the list that you would like to put into storage. When you select a handling unit, Bitergo WMS checks whether it can be put into storage and, if successful, displays the “Please Withdraw” page—that is, the intake dialog (removal from the bin location)—to start the operational process.

Additional Menu

Using the additional menu in the upper-right corner of the header, you can collapse the list via the “Close All” menu item so that only the handling unit numbers are displayed or expand the list via the “Open All” menu item to view the items contained in the handling units. The expanded view is the default view.

"Please Withdraw" Page

After you select a handling unit from the list, the “Please Withdraw” page opens.

The following information is displayed here:

  • the transport ID of the storage order, which is automatically generated by Bitergo WMS,
  • the number of the handling unit to be put away, which has just been selected
  • the source, i.e., the goods receipt bin location where the handling unit is located.

Below that are two buttons:

  • the "WITHDRAW" button: Click the "WITHDRAW" button to Withdraw the handling unit from the goods receipt location and write it off. After you have written off the handling unit, you must transport it to the bin location suggested on the next page (Please Move Inventory) to put it into storage there.
  • the "CANCEL" button: Click the "Cancel" button to cancel the process or "Abort" to abort the cancelling.

"Please Move Inventory" Page

By clicking the "Withdraw" button on the "Please Withdraw" page, you confirm the removal of the handling unit from the goods receipt location. The "Please Move Inventory" page will now open, displaying a suggested destination bin location to which you must transport the removed handling unit to store it there.

  • The page title: “Please Move Inventory”
  • The additional menu: You can use the additional menu to change the destination bin location if necessary.

Below that are two buttons:

  • the "STORE" button: Store the handling unit in the bin location and click the "STORE" button to post the handling unit to that location.
  • the "CANCEL" button: Click the "Cancel" button to cancel the operation.

Change Destination Bin Location

You can change the suggested bin location using the additional menu on the "Please move Inventory" page. As a user, you’ll see this option after you’ve Withdrawn the handling unit from the goods receipt location. If, for any reason, the suggested bin location is unavailable, you can move the handling unit to another suitable, available bin location to store it there. Store the goods there, then click the three-dot menu in the header on the right and select “Change Destination Bin location...” from the menu. A dialog box will open where you can specify the new bin location. At the very top of the dialog box, it says “Search for:”. Below that is the “Bin location” field for entering the bin location. Next to it is the “Scan” icon. Below that are the “CANCEL” and “OK” buttons.
